Giddings Caps Off Senior Season With Trip to State


Kayla Giddings has achieved an incredible milestone by becoming the first female runner since 2012 to qualify for the prestigious CIF State Cross Country Championships. Her journey began at the CIF Southern Section Finals, where she showcased her remarkable talents by finishing in 19th place overall, a performance that earned her a coveted spot in the state championships held in Fresno.

This past weekend, Kayla traveled to Fresno, California, for this highly anticipated event. Competing against some of the best runners in the state, she concluded her cross country career by placing an impressive 35th overall out of 201 participants in the challenging 5k race. With a stellar finishing time of 19 minutes and 6 seconds, Kayla not only demonstrated her speed and endurance but also solidified her position in the record books. Her time ranks her 4th overall in San Marino Titan History for 5k times, a testament to her hard work, dedication, and athletic prowess.

This achievement is not just a personal victory for Kayla; it is also a proud moment for the entire Titan Cross Country program. Congratulations are in order for Kayla, her coaches, Coach DiConti and Coach Lew, and all of her teammates who have supported her throughout this journey.
